First and foremost:  Happy Birthday Diane!

I love my co-workers, but I hate my company.  I hate handing out brochures and I hate pretending to care if we meet account acquisition goals every month or not.  I hate my regional manager who is a cowardly little bald man with glasses and who puts a lot of effort into a regal appearance, but doesn’t know the first thing about people.  Let’s just say he isn’t going to miss me very much either.

My new job, which I begin on the first of next month, is at NCO.  I will be a Payment Processor, which is really kind of a glorified accounting data entry clerk, but there are no evenings, no weekends and no marketing!  There are regular evaluations and raises!  I will have my own desk — granted it is a cubicle surrounded by other little cogs of the great machine, but it is my own desk just the same.  There are windows through which the sun may shine even.  There is the possibility of promotion to a more desirable position.  And it is just about two blocks from my house.

So, I’m a quitter.  I put my two weeks in on Wednesday.  I promised to finish the month since I am on the schedule until the 31st, although I wouldn’t be at all upset if, upon receiving my official resignation, HR asks me to turn my keys in sooner rather than later.  Good riddance!

I am also quitting my blog.  I still have a few months left on the subscription, but I’m not going to renew it when the time comes.  I believe my inconsistancy has lost me all the thousands of loyal readers I once had anyway and the ones that are left can just call me on the phone if they want to hear my news.  I will continue to post until the subscription ends just for the sake of it, but I think I have run out of energy to be creatively opinionated.
